Paypal trick?
« on: September 23, 2015, 09:08:14 PM »
Hello. So here is a mind blowing thing. One day My "Friend" told me that he found a bug on Ebay from where he can make over $150-200 from only $15. He offered me that he will buy some stuff from ebay for me if I gave him $15. At first I was confused but after a while I trusted him and put $15 on his eMoney account as he asked me. So after this he messages me on FB saying that I should give him my Ebay and Paypal accounts and after he says that I should not to login for couple of days.I did as he said. After giving my accounts, I was receiving money from weird guys, see pic http://postimg.org/image/oxud97wt9/ .Then he purchased stuffs and I  was receiving mails from Ebay confirming orders. He actually did that, in 2 days items shipped. My interest balloon popped So I logged in my Paypal account and what I see, NEGATIVE BALANCE. I can't understand what's happening here, maybe you can guys elucidate me? http://postimg.org/image/ehclzsrbb/
I contacted him and asked about paypal, he replied:"This negative money is ok, you can leave account. I had over -$3000 and paypal did not even contacted me."
I asked about  Paypal accounts that where sending money on my account, he replied:"Paypal account that where sending you money where hacked accounts"
Also He mentioned something about backdoor.
No more information. Maybe he is fools me, maybe not, no idea. I wrote this in that case maybe it will help you to resolve this sh*t.

So whats the plot of this topic, I only have two questions:
*Am I in the deep sh*t?
*Do you know how my "friend" did this trick?
BIG sorry for my disgusting English. Hope you understand what am i trying to tell. Thanks good people, hope you will help me.

I would review

http://www.voodish.co.uk/articles/paypal-reversal-scam/

https://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23073&start=135

http://www.askdavetaylor.com/paypal-payment-reversal-email-scam/

Key words in you story are that the 'scammer' told you not to login to your ebay ot paypal account for a few days. Also the currency means they are doing so from a country that probably has more lax internet freedom.

Quote
The recipient waits for a few days after the unwitting seller (in this case on Ebay) has sent the goods. Then he or she claims the goods have never been received plus claims that his or her Paypal account must have been hacked in order for the payment to have been made.

Paypal responds to these allegations by sending out a string of emails – all of which look like phishing attempts – demanding the vendor log into his or her account and provide more details.

After a short period – possibly as little as three days (including the weekend) – Paypal makes a full refund to the supposedly aggrieved purchaser. Leaving the seller high and dry

Thanks for replying. I don't think he was scamming the way you quoted. With that variation that you linked me you can't make $250 from $15 in three days. Maybe I understood incorrectly, sorry. Thanks btw. And what about my Paypal account. My balance is Negative. Will they do something with me?

I think you are mistaken in calling this person your friend.

He needed your Ebay and paypal account. Why not just your paypal?

Did you ever receive the items you ordered?

Yes. I received them. Will Paypal now arrest me? They know my name and IP.

So you got $250 dollars worth of items shipped to you?

I do not think they will do anything. Worse case is they limit your account, put it on watch or blacklist/ban you from their services.

Your 'friend' scammed people on ebay and when the people on ebay got wind of it, they complained and in the amount of days you did not check your paypal, paypal refunded the money to ebay as thats the agreement of ebay and paypal.

I would check your ebay account and see who you scammed. Have you changed your passwords yet?

No I did not changed password.

You gave this friend your login and password for your accounts or just your account name?

BTW - instead of double-posting (posting right after your own post) just use the modify button.

You should definitely change your passwords. If asked by paypal or ebay about what happened, I would say that someone called you saying they were from ebay or paypal and told you they needed your account credentials in order repair your account or something like that.
