My Reversing Journal
« on: March 19, 2014, 10:07:22 PM »
Hey all,
First off, I'm not sure wether this topic should go here, but since the mentioned learning process will fall into the RE-category, I simply post it in this sub-forum, sorry if it's the wrong one.

Since I want to contribute instead of just lurking on the forums, I thaught of writing down an explanation of the things I try to learn, as well as the technical background to them. This would be a quite long process, so I wanted to announce it to know the opinion of the people out here. Since it would be mentored by my school (at least I will get something comparable to a grade), this would be a rather serious project. As a more specific topic I thought of reverse-engineering a PE-Executable with special attention to compression (in general and in combination with executables).
To get more specific: The actual project / work would consist of writing various C programs and learning ASm along the way, as well as the links between them, which would lead to reverse engineering "step by step".

The reason why I post this is that I think that anyone here might be interested to follow the path I will try to go as well as asking wether this can be done in appropriate time (around a year).

If anyone has some ideas, wants to leave feedback or anything, I would be very grateful, since it'll definitely help.
Looking forward to cooperate, TheWormKill

He is doing C and learning ASM as well as reversing shit, time has never been enough to get good in any of these field but we only try to get a hit i all world.

@OP, i wish you all luck in you project. i would personally have posted it in personal improvement board but there is a reason i ain't mod.
If you can't explain it to a 6 year old, you don't understand it yourself.
