"Doom 3" mini-review
« on: September 25, 2013, 07:08:37 PM »

The game is a reboot of the Doom franchise, disregarding the storylines of the previous Doom video games. Doom 3 is set in 2145 on Mars, where a military-industrial conglomerate has set up a scientific research facility to research into fields such as teleportation, biological research and advanced weapons design. However, the teleportation experiments inadvertently open a gateway to Hell, resulting in a catastrophic invasion by demons.

My input:

This is seriously, one of the games that needs no introduction, so I'll skip that and say what I think about it.
I think positive about it. It is NOT your regular FPS shooter bullshit where you blast everything you encounter. You can walk around the map anywhere you want, back and forth and sideways if you're into that. What I REALLY loved about the game is the unusual gameplay, a deep story and so much details that it will blow your fucking mind back to caveman times. Really, it has such a detailed map, surroundings, objects, and text is so clear, my god.

Yeah anyway, what I didn't like in particular about it was the same environment through the game (however I don't know for sure, I played like just a few hours of it :P).

And btw:

Doom 3 is the shit. I love games that can actually scare me. Unfortunately yeah it is pretty much the same throughout a large portion of the game. Once you get closer to the end it changes.
It also gets scarier. Which is awesome.

So yeah, great game. I used to own it until I sold it to Gamestop for probably about twelve cents...

I was actually talking about this the other day. To me doom 3 was an amazing game.

pro's:it broke the mold on how it told its story, it was VERY original, at the time it came out it got a LOT of flack for it being unrealistic. i mean who would send video/voice and files to a phone? ridiculous. I saw the genius of it, and loved it for thinking outside of the box. That isnt very common in any game, let alone a FPS. Their was a lot of details...and those damn demon scorpion cherub baby things were freaky as hell. Like seriously the first time i saw one i was like awww its so cute. AHHH its attacking AHHHHHHHH. yeah great times. Even better i had a group of friends watching me play over my shoulder and the comments/conversation about those things was epic.

Cons: really only one, the level design/spawn became predictable. Lot of other games with this flaw as well, so cant hammer it to hard for this. considering they hit everything else on the head (controls, graphics, story, etc) i can forgive it to me its one flaw.

Bonus Pro: This game is the best game with rocket jumping since TFC.
The internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are FBI agents.

Ahh, EvilZone.  Where networking certification meets avian fecal matter & all is explained, for better or worse.

<Phage> I used an entrence I never use

Halo 3 beats it in rocket jumping :P barely but it does.
