Certification classes/vouchers for Veterans
« on: September 06, 2015, 02:34:47 PM »
Dont know how many other veterans are on here, but I figured I would share. JPMorgan & Chase Co. offer a program to veterans for IT and IS classes and vouchers for certifications. Here is the link if anyone is interested.

The Tech Track is the program with the certification classes/programs.
Here's the list of certifications available through the program.  Take a while to get a response back, but here's the application if you're still interested. The application is somewhat lengthy but it is free if your accepted.

I just recently learned about it myself. I submitted an application and about 2 weeks later I received a reply sayign I was accepted. The only downside to it that they have there own road map for you to take to get. (you can necessarily pick and choose)

for instance if your wanting to get the CISSP then you will need to complete there prerequisites which includes Sec+ network+ and SSCP. All paid for by them but no one really wants the CompTIA certs these days since  they are not held very high in the industry. This of course is just there way to ensure there money spent preparing you for the courses to come.

Just being accepted courses begin this October

Oh ok... Nice... Thanks for the additional info.. Kinda sucks you cant pick and choose your own stuff, but then again it makes sense I suppose.. They are paying for it so they wanna make sure u don't fail.... Is there a limit that you know of of how many you can take?

Not that I know of no. I cant imagine there is a limit though given that most people in infosec will be doing this to pursue the CISSP or CEH.

Yeah it does suck but then again you can think of the Sec+ and Network+ as studies for the CISSP most of both those books are covered in the CISSP so just think of it as a foundation. All in all having them all is not going to hurt you especially when someone else if picking up the bill.

The VA had a pilot Accelerated Learning Program centered on IT and Infosec. The application period is closed but it's worth bookmarking at least for when they open up again.

I start classes for this next week. Just curious did anyone else from here sign up for any of these?
