Anonymity to the ISP
« on: August 03, 2014, 06:48:49 PM »
Hello everyone,
I have been around the community for a few weeks, however I decided to register only today. I believe that whatever anonymity measures you take the ISP will always keep some sort of information, at least the addresses of the websites you visit, no matter how many proxies you chain or if you use a VPN or not. Am I wrong? and if I am right, is there anything we could do to cover up this bit?

And anyway, most proxy URL's expire after a few hours, so whatever you browsed can not be looked up after some time.

Simply put, and agreeing with nonce, anonymity isn't the same as privacy. If you want privacy, you'll have no such luck in the U.S. or any of the Five Eyes. Your best bet is to connect to a VPN or stack Tor and a VPN, but this will cut down on your speed. However, you will be able to maintain security if you use a VPN, but your ISP will certainly know when you connect. This raises suspicions. I've been using a paid VPN to connect to the internet and most work related tasks for 5+ years and my ISP has never said shit, but that isn't to say they won't eventually arrive at the conclusion that I've been hiding my activity. You'll find tutorials on anonymity and security here in various forms, it's up to you to decide what measures you take in the end. But don't blindly follow any instructions you read online. Don't be a sheep, and welcome to EZ.
