USB not compatible to OS?
« on: July 06, 2012, 01:31:14 PM »
Hey,
I decided to buy a new USB stick,as my old one doesn't have enough space,so I looked around for USB sticks, and found this one:

Winten 64 GB Datastick USB 3.0
(sorry, couldn't find it on amazon.com in English)

In the description it says it's compatible to PC and Mac,
but I always thought you can use an USB with every OS...

So,could it be,that only some software on it isn't compatible?
Because I need it for Linux too...

Add info.:
I search for a 64GB USB 3.0 stick
maximum 50€ (~ 62$)
Compatible to Windows,Mac and Linux
Shouldn't block nearby USB-HUDs
Should be able to boot from

You are thinking from the opposite angle. It is not the USB stick that is not compatible, it's the software that comes with it. And that software is actually shit. Most of the time it's just drivers for Win95.
USB works on anything that has a working USB port.
