When is the best time to chat on IRC with you folks ?

I work midnight's Wed - Sun midnight - 8am if anyone is up during that time to chat on IRC. From what I read on the board's, and from the user's I see logged in, it is a pretty active server, but not during those hours.

Are there time(s) during the week more so than others where alot of you get to hang for a bit ? It would be nice to chat with some of you in real time. Just wondering.

i think u'll still find some1 to chat with at any time of the day i visted the irc channel yesterday and yes it is active !!

Hmm, I was going to link you to a thread that showed when people where most active / on the irc channel the most but it seems like it's been removed. I think in general though people are usually on during midday / evening in their timezone (also their can be a few night owls lingering). This is just my best estimate so if I'm wrong anyone is free to correct me since I haven't been on the IRC chat in a bit.

You must keep in mind that we all live in different time zones, so the network is always, more or less, active. If no one is talking, say something yourself and wait for a reply.

What might be midnight for you, is most likely morning at someone else's place. There's many unspoken laws and rules of IRC. One of them being; If there's no activity, write someone and WAIT. Too many log on, write something and disconnects again because they didn't get a reply within the first 5 minutes. Most people are online on IRC the whole day (idling) and simply doesn't check it every 5 minute. In worst case, you can highlight someone, if you want their attention. But you might want to be a bit cautious about that, people generally don't want to get highlighted for nothing.
