Help with Privoxy

Does anyone know how to setup privoxy? There is really no clear instruction on how to do it. plz help

When I try to set it up in my browser(Chrome) and configure the proxy settings, it still says "not in use"

Forgive my ignorance with Tor since it transitioned from the tor+vidalia+privoxy paradigm and released the browser bundle, but is it possible you just forgot to initialize the tor daemon or something?
