"Portal" mini-review
« on: September 10, 2013, 07:07:33 PM »

Available for:
  • Portal: Windows, MAC, Unix
  • Portal 2: Windows, Xbox360, PS3, MAC

The game primarily comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using "the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes. The player-character, Chell, is challenged by an artificial intelligence named GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) to complete each puzzle in the Aperture Science Enrichment Center using the portal gun with the promise of receiving cake when all the puzzles are completed.

My input:
I thought I shouldn't post this as Portal is an already known game, but what the hell. I enjoyed it too much to not talk about it.
Idea about it is unique with a funny and really map design. It had me thinking a lot through the game.
Portal 1 was a great game, Portal 2 was even better, and that rarely happens, that the second version would be as cool or even better than the first. Actually I love anything from Valve, I played all Half-Life games starting from the very first one with all the official mods.
What I really liked in Portal 2 was that talking robot. It really set the funny mood for the whole game and the end was unexpected.

Don't know what else to say, it's an awesome game and you should play it if you haven't already.

Always remember... the cake is a lie ;)

It's OS X not MAC.  MAC is MAC OS 9 and Prior.

And the cake is not a lie, you can see it in the credits!

Anyways, Portal 1 was amazing.  Portal 2 was just as amazing but I wouldn't call it better but it was pretty damn fun. They're both fun and amazing in their own ways but are still very similar.  I love the puzzle aspects of Portal 1 and 2.  Basically this is a game you have to play sometime :D
I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.  In its place now exists my own reality, a reality which I have created for myself by myself.

I have the second one. Never played the first though. What I like most about it is co-op. Fable doesn't like FPS, RPG, or really any game now that I mention it; except for MTG.

She will play this with me cause we're doing it together, and it's puzzles. Yeah you got the turrets but they are much less stressful than a hoard of zimbies.

I am also a fan of Valve. Half-Life and all its sequals where one of the first FPS's to really get me hooked.

Definitely a game made for those with hacker minds.
"Hacking is at least as much about ideas as about computers and technology. We use our skills to open doors that should never have been shut. We open these doors not only for our own benefit but for the benefit of others, too." - Brian the Hacker

The internet: where men are men, women are men, and children are FBI agents.
