i recently have been trying to learn android development and SDK and i was wondering if there where a good ebook to learn from. i've been searching and i havent found anything really useful on the topic.

Would you consider videos instead? I would recommend "The new boston" series, it's where I started out and they are amazing. Simple, clear and straight. Try them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUOWNXGRc6g&list=PL33384E9848C4F55E

A friend recommended Learning Android by Marko Gargenta.

i never started android development so i can't guarantee it's what your are looking for.
