Android / Re: 'Repair' IMEI
« on: July 12, 2013, 05:09:26 AM »
There's tons of info on backing up, restoring or recreating the IMEI on XDA.  If you are hacking android, or just rooting, etc. that's the #1 place to get info.

Austerus, You may want to browse this thread.  Perhaps you can find something that will get you on the right path to restoring your IMEI.  As always, YMMV.

Operating System / Re: Which Linux flavor should i go with?
« on: July 07, 2013, 04:53:02 AM »
Everyone here seems to kiss the Linux kernel's ass, but is there even a single BSD user in this forum?

I am seriously considering switching to a BSD variant, likely FreeBSD.

I've always liked BSD.  I am not currently running it as a desktop OS as I consider it more appropriate for severs, etc.

On another note, other than the installer and what comes packaged in the distro....one linux is as good as another.  Really comes down to preference more than anything.

If you were having issues, it's likely do to configuration issues.  Some distros are better suited for beginners than seasoned vetrans.  You may want to try a distro that automates the install a bit more.

If you believe, great.  If you don't, great.  Nothing other than disagreements will ever come from this thread.

This thread should be locked.

There are other browsers out there.  If you like chrome, try Iron - It uses the chromium engine, but removes all the Google reporting.

Operating System / Re: The Best OS?
« on: November 10, 2012, 07:48:43 PM »
Why didn't you list more OS's.  You say Linux, but you don't mention other OS's.  I assume you mean all unix based OS's when you say Linux, but that isn't accurate.

It IS a BS question because some OS's are better for specific tasks, so the best OS is going to be one that enables you to do what you are wanting to do.

BSD FTW!!    ;D

Science / Re: Do you guys believe in ESP abilities ?
« on: November 10, 2012, 07:42:28 PM »
I think some people have a better view of things, if you will.  Having said that, most people that seek fame and fortune for such abilities are frauds, liars and cheats.

NO, I am saying the S3 is better BECAUSE it's not made by apple.

You only need one reason:  The S3 isn't made by Apple.   Nuff said.

  • President, Harvard Law Review, 1990-1991

  • For the Romney stuff, check Wikipedia or biography.com.   Entries are too lengthy to post here.  I'd put more weight on the biography.com articles.
For the record:  I don't particularly like either one of these guys, but Romney seems to be more qualified to get the US financial house in order.
@Proxx - Sounds like a joke to me.  Source?

Think what you want, but Romney is a self made millionaire.  He didn't that money by being stupid.  He worked for it.

Obama on the other hand.....Has he EVER had a real job?

Rather than posting judgments here, you should see that you are not the only one with an opinion. No one wants to die for fun, if someone contemplates it than it isn't for fun.

I didn't post a judgement.   I simply said suicide is always a selfish move.  I didn't slam anyone for stating an opinion - every fucking post in this thread is an opinion.

Talk about the fuckiing pot calling the kettel black.  Check your shit at the door.  You know as much about her particular perspective as anyone else here does - which is jack shit.

What was her perspective?  Suicide is selfish, always.  Did she consider her parents?  Friends?  Nope.

Can I ask why C?

I'd go with C++ myself.  If you are already familiar with JAVA, the C++ will be easier since they are both OOP languages.  Syntax between the languages obviously different, but the OO concepts are the same.
