You have partial right. Just call me when you can do Pentests in Windows as in BackTrack. I've done Certified Ethical Hacker Cert. so I know very well what's the power of backtrack and other linux distributions (and HACKING in general) . If I'm new here, it doesn't mean I'm noob.

I'm a C# Developer, so I strongly recommend you to learn this powerful programming language. You'll be able to do a lot of things (including Windows apps, Web apps, and so on). If you never used OOP, C# will gives you a lot of features easy to learn. But you have to do some things before creating mallicious software. Good luck.

You said that you wanna be a linux exploitation expert. First of all, you have to know how linux OS works. C knowledges are good, but not enough. I mean that you have to be familiar with CODING. Not only a specific programming language. If you have no background in linux, I strongly recommend Ubuntu OS first, and after BackTrak or Kali Linux. Anyway, maybe these will help you:
