update*
Microsoft is pushing KB3075249 and KB3080149 updates for Windows 7/8/8.1 users which can spy on you
KB3075249 update adds telemetry points to consent.exe in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3075249
KB3080149 “This update aligns down-level devices on the same UTC binary that’s released in Windows 10. This update would enable all the down-level devices to receive the software updates, design updates, and additional power and performance tuning.”
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3080149

In simple words, both these updates, if downloaded and installed will snoop on you and report back certain data to the Microsoft servers.

Apparently some Czech guy did a traffic analysis of data produced by Windows 10 and posted his findings.
His primary thesis was that Windows 10 acts more like a terminal than an operating system -- because of the extent of the "cloud" integration, a large portion of the OS functions are almost dependent on remote (Microsoft's) servers. The amount of collected information, even with strict privacy settings, is quite alarming.

Hello,
I truly agree with you that this plug-in is annoying; but is it invasive, I do not think so. In fact here is the list of the sites hardcoded into the .js file that you may find here: https://github.com/jblinder/DarkSideOfThePrism/blob/master/data/prism.js let your imagination flourish with what you can do with this information.
Anyway I just found that plug-in a bit amusing since my mind was elevated  for a few hours and listening to pink floyd was in a way comforting.

Hello,
Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, if you really would like to get deep down and dirty and you get enjoyment out of OS install i recommend gentoo ( http://www.gentoo.org/ ) basically you control everything and I mean everything. Good luck mate on distro selection.

Found it on the Webs / Youtube - Vice Channel
« on: March 08, 2013, 08:50:18 PM »
Hello All,
Recently, I have been discussing current events with some of my friends and I was shocked how either unaware or misinformed a few of them were. I am not a conspiracy theorist on any level and I do my research for myself pretty extensively to understand any subject at that time. I would like to present an youtube channel called "Vice" for any documentary junkies out there.

Cheers
