Just wondering how everyone got into this damn "hacking world"?
I'll start with mine. Here it goes....
Previous year one day I was just surfing the web when I came to know about that there is a software which cracks all the passwords including FB,GMAIL,Hotmail and other sites.I told about this to my elder brother and he said that it is fake because if it was so easy to hack those accounts then everyone would be a hacker. To be a hacker it needs very much hard work and the hackers that are present there practice all day and night and still its very rare that thay can hack any id. That day I told him that just wait and watch me becoming a hacker and now when he needs to hack any id, he asks me if I can hack it or not.
This was mine, tell about how you came into this?
Mods/Admins, if you think its in the wrong board, I am sorry. Feel free to move it!

well i was determined to be a blackhat hacker because skids defaced some of my country's sites and i wanted to get back at them. People like Phage made me see the light and so i've gone into ethical hacking. You should have seen some of my first posts/threads(they were deleted and most of my negative karma is beacause of them). I was a bit like pllaybuoy :P

A few friends sent batch-forkbombs to me and others, so I started to learn a bit batch too, to sent them some forkbombs back.
Also my parents had the admin account on my laptop when I was 12, and they allowed me to log in on my laptop only once a day for 2 hours. So I started looking for tutorials on how to hack my laptop to get admin rights and remove the time-limit...
That's how I got into "hacking"

I had a small site months ago in wapka. If you know about wapka, then you must know about the mb system there. A user who promised to give me mb for creating a toplist for him later cheated me. Then I searched a lot and lot and tried to hack his account and ultimately hacked it and just stole all his mb. That day I felt how cool the hacker's are and decided to learn hacking and I'm here

i was walking down the street when i tripped and went unconcious. i then woke up with a computer infront of me logged in with this account in a mysterious warehouse. my account password was also tattoed on my neck and so i have to use a mirror. it took me 2 hours to realise that in mirror words appear backwards until eventually i figured it out.

LMAO! This was funny. Do you prefer + or -?
I started into hacking in my first year of university: I was living with a friend on a rented apartment and we had no Internet connection, but we had access to an open (unprotected) AP nearby. After some months of intensive use from our part, the owner decided to "protect" the AP with a WEP password and changed the SSID to something like "No more sucking". So I just went to the university network, searched for some tutorials for WEP cracking, downloaded & burned some distro (I believe it was wifiway/wifislax) and successfully cracked the key. I then proceeded to change the SSID to "Suck on this" and changed the WEP key. Took him almost a week to find the reset button.

I didnt do much computing about from three years now. But then my friends at school would talk about new games so i became curious about playing games .but As you know my pc sucks and i cant play game on it . So i started fooling around with alot of softwairs and eventualy started to learn ms word, excel, and power point. Then becaus of my weird curiosity i started learning photoshop, then graphics designing . Then programming (VB 6) and then hacking and now i want to learn 3D modeling and animating in 3DS MAX. Dont know what ill want to learn next....... .not yet.

Mr.Perfect was interested in my story so here it is.
For years ago I was like every "normal" computer user. I was playing games and was able to write papers in Word and such. Then one day my mom came home and told me about one of her colleges son who had earned big money on making websites. I came to the conclusion that I could use the money and i was kind of interested in how the computer/internet/websites actually works.
So I started learning HTML, CSS, Javascript and such and I quickly found out that i really enjoyed making the websites. I have now worked with websites for about 4 years and I'm currently making a webshop for a fairly big company.
Back to the story. After I felt that I could take a break at learning website development I quikly got interested in how the computer actually worked. I then spent some time on studying computer science "low basis" on my own. I learned a lot and in that period of time I got used to Linux (love it now). After I knew how the different computer systems worked I moved on to actually controlling them. I got interested in programming and I quickly found that Python was the language of my choice. I learned a bit of Python and was actually capable of making something, all forgotten now. I then moved on to programming in Java and later on C++. I have now switched back to Java because I'm going to take some classes in it this summer/fall. Then after i understood the basic concepts of how you control the computer I fell back into my web development. I quikly got more interested in the security aspects of it and I have loved it since. I learned about the different vulnerabilities and how to spot them. This is where my web development came in handy, it is a lot easier to find the vulnerabilities when you actually understands the code and know what it does. So I worked a lot with the website security and i found vulnerabilities in some pretty big websites. After that I looked into the malware scene and learned a bit about that.
so what am I doint these days? Because of all my jumping around bestween the differnet fields i have at least basic knowledge in about every major field of hacking. I'm of course more specialized in some fields than others. And I will not claim to be an expert in any of them. Because of that I found myself pretty capable of pointing people in the right direction. Because I knew from my mistakes what to do and what not to do. Since I have taught myself most of the things I know about (Of course I have learned a lot from other peoples and I could not have done it without them) are self-study. Anyways today I'm back at my Java programming, I'm making websites, teaching and tutoring, helping where I can and moderating some other hacking forums.
Sorry for the long post but there was a lot to be told.

I don't even know how I began... it just happened. I was always curious to see how stuff works. That is probably why most of my toys were in parts :P I became even more curious when I had a retarded IT teacher to teach me in middle-school, back in those days I didn't really have a computer either. When I got one, I was about to finish middle school and mainly been learning about hardware and computer system repair, as those kind of services were very expensive, and so I figured it's not so hard...
But it was just nibbling on this and that, wasn't serious until 1nj3ct was founded (EZ oldfags will know... oh the good times...). I was one of the founders, by luck :P and I kinda went from there on to what I know now... (still not much :P).

Mine too, especially those with electronic components. My mother used to say she was afraid I started dismantling people when I grew up. She was joking, of course. Or maybe not...

Lol! For me it was curiousity. I went from game development > programming > hacking. I always messed with computers but it was from programming that I really looked at hacking.

Lets see. Where did I start? Hell I can't even remember... I started when I was young. I always had an interest in computers. I guess about 2nd grade (~7yrs old) I started using AOL Chatrooms and looking up porn. There was such a vastness of porn on the internet at the time xD. Eventually my mom caught me looking up porn on my AOL account (remember having to log in on your phone lines back then xD) and put the parental controls on it. Instead of trying to bypass I got my sister to unknowingly give me her password (Good ol social engineering) Was able to keep looking at porn xD. Anyways as I got older, stopped looking at porn so much, got upgraded to DSL and got into downloading. I guess after downloading Microsoft Frontpage I got into developing Websites and learned HTML. I made a few different HTML static sites nothing fancy but knew standard HTML. After that I got into a little bit of programming. I started off with QBASIC 7.1 and made a few text based games. After that I did a summer school thing that offered web design. I learned a little bit more of the HTML markup. During this time I also learned the windows system and self taught myself computer peripherals. Later in life I learned the registry and batch programming and then in 9th grade I took a multimedia class which was illustrater/photoshop/indesign on a MAC. I took this time to learn the Adobe products as well as mess with a MAC system (at this point I still haven't messed with linux) When I was in 10th grade I finally got my own computer and I was able to surf the web and download freely without my dad watching everything I do I loaded various nix distros, messed with windows, learned about backtrack 2 and the aircrack-ng suite. I still have the want to learn C/++ but I haven't had the passion. Around that time I believe EZ was already around and there brought the dark side of my learning and destruction :P

I saw a computer screen that had a full screen matrix flowing as a screen saver, and right then decided that's what I want to do. now I don't even really think of most of what I thought was hacking as hacking at all.

I'm lame. Cheating/modding video games is kind of what got me into it I suppose. One day I got a message over Xbox live from a dude asking me if I SQL/DDoS/some/other/stuff/that/i/cant/remember/.
So I said:
"What do those things mean"
Turns out he claimed to be an antisec guy who evidentally "wrote SQL injections in a VPS" :P

Lol. Also cheating games is not cool, modding however is awesome :P

I think I did modding more so than cheating.

I softmodded original Xboxes as well however my Xbox had an executer 3 modchip ;) Sick shit :P Best christmas present from my dad ever xD

I never really did the hardware stuff with the Xbox although I wanted to. No fun equipment or soldering iron or anything.
The only time I opened up an xbox was to hide large amounts of money in there.
-
Softmodding an original Xbox is easy. If you google "GamerZFX Xbox softmod pack" it has everything you need to softmod. It only requires opening the console and then hotswapping IDE cables with a desktop. Also the modchip I got was solderless, made it that much easier ;)

I started out like most, a upcoming PC gamer. I was at my friends house, we were both 11/12ish, and I, being the uber1337hacker that I was, decided to show off my impressive use of the "tree" command in windows XP command prompt. My friend of course had to one up me and used the "net view" command, which showed my computer on his screen (on the same LAN). From there it kind of started as a competition on who could do what, and how cool you could make it. Eventually we both got lives, he moved more toward the gaming area and is now a proficient starcraft II player, and I took the path more into Hacking/modding/developing. Through my "journey" I started leaning toward the pentesting area and learned about metasploit and nmap, did a few tests on a VM, etc etc. Eventually it led me to where I am today, a greyhat which enjoys a challenge, going to school to get my certification in Cisco Networking, and chillin on the EZ boards :P

i started it when i just thought... this aint enough

I've dabbled in computers since I was young. I remember going to a summer camp where we took classes. Engineering math and a computer class. That was my first taste of programming and also learning how to solder. The fact that my father fixed things and I was curious about how things worked and started taking things apart. In high school I got more into programming and over the course of the next couple years my interest grew more and more and now I'm learning and doing as much as I can. The class on network security really got me hooked
