I just installed metasploit and i tried running the metasploit console and the development console but neither of them work they say there initializing and then they stop working before i installed it i allowed it through my firewall and my anit-virus program. Thanks.

First off, are you running it from windows? I had this same problem when I was first starting out, and then I discovered why you never run anything useful off windows. I suggest getting a backtrack or mandriva dual boot on your computer, makes life much easier.
Other suggestions:
Make sure your running as root/admin, when in doubt restart, and if it still doesn't work reinstall. Make sure you have all the ruby gems it needs and other dependencys, etc etc etc

Well im just gonna back this up.
Winblows and msploit dont do well together, also i dont think anyone serious about it actually runs it on windows.
Im even suprised there is a port.
Get yourself some nice linux distro and forget about windows would be my general advice.
But than again im a linux fan.
