Title: Help identify interesting pieces of electronic

Today at the market I saw some interesting pieces of hardware. Looks like embed computers or something, tho I am not sure. There were 3 different pieces, all looked the same. They had input plugs for the keyboard/mouse, a power switch, a serial port, a PC beeper, ethernet port and other stuff you could find on older computer mobos. One of them had some sort of an LED indicator...
It was weird that they only had input ports and no output, like VGA at least.
I took some pictures of how they look. Help me identify what are these.

I didn't buy them, because I don't really know what to do with them, and what they are.

They are all boards from external modems.


The top picture shows a data connector that used to be used for some modems.  It may look some what like an old keyboard plug (AT sytle), but those only had 5 pins - that one has 8 pins (as did the data ports).  It has a speaker, what looks to be an on/off switch and the phone line connector.


The others all look like modems as well.   There were parallel port, data port, 9 pin com port connectors, etc.  The other stuff is the power supply input, phone connector etc.

Rockwell and Lucent used to make a lot of chip sets for modems.  All those have one of those chips.

hahaha yeah, I thought it was a Raspberry Pi or similar... but old school version! Then I thought it would have been impossible because of the tech these days  :P

There is no such thing as an old school Raspberry Pi lol. You might be thinking of microcontrollers. Which are usually AVR based or Pic based. They are usually 8 bit though, but 32 bit versions are out there.

@kulver you might be able to put OpenWRT or something on them, I doubt it though.

Well you could use the other electronic components in these boards or whatever they are called. Capacitors, diodes and other components should be useful for future hardware projects.
