Just completed this PPT in office 2010.
Its a ppt on FORUM. Plz tell me fast how it is and whats wrong in it.
My seminar is day after tomorrow.
-
nice, someone has been learning from forum structure by looking at evilzone or :P?
-
This part has me a little confused. You said that
•Like users visitors can not create a new thread in forum.
Am I stupid, reading this wrong ( it's pretty late here) or a typo? Just thought I'd point that out.
-
I'd like to add a few things here, if I may :)
Looks good. Really good. But few things should be fixed.
Slide #4:
Reverse the pyramid. Will make more sense.
Also the structure is not entirely correct. You are starting from people and ending with virtual object, such as a thread. Also "Post" goes after "Thread" because thread is higher, and it can contain 1..* posts.
I would say to change like this:
Staff Hierarchy:
Administrator
Moderators
Respected members (?)
Users
Visitors
Forum hierarchy:
Forum
Sub-forum
Thread
Post
Slide #5:
Administrator IS a person <...>
Guess it would be sufficient enough to just say that Administrator has the control over whole website to every detail, such as database.
Slide #10:
Not sure what did you want to say there :P
Slide #11:
Admin can do much more than that.
Slide #13:
IRC chatting is not part of a forum, if we are talking about forum itself, not the community.
Slide #14:
Love the stick figure. And the internet :D
Slide #15:
Kinda hard to understand
Slide #17:
I'd say a blog is like a personal forum, if you turn it into it... guess your deffinition is also correct.
Slide #20:
Lol at the picture. And I'd say to add "Building community". Main idea is to build a community in which people share knowledge and exchange information. It's like a club, but virtual.
Slide #21:
- Any Operating System
- PHP 4 or 5
- SQL database
(it can run with other databases ya know, not just MySQL or Oracle)
Slide #22:
You get what you pay for. Free hosting is shit unless you host it yourself. There is also paid forums, such as vBulletin.

Thanks a lot for your help. I will make changes that you provided.
and some thing which are not understable will be explained by me in seminar.
and i know admin can do lot more then that but all things can't be coverd in ppt.
ppt should be clean.
So all the other data are in report.
i wwant to ask one more question that what could be literature review of FORUM.
i found this on net
http://jcmc.indiana.edu/vol3/issue3/anderson.html#Abstract (http://jcmc.indiana.edu/vol3/issue3/anderson.html#Abstract)
And yes what extra privilage VIP or respected members have?
-
please tell me about privilage of vip or respected member.
also about literature review.
by the way made some correction. thank you :)
-
Forum hierarchy should contain Categories as well.

I would say same access to everything, as moderators, but not the same powers (to edit someone else it posts)
also they somewhat more privileges (which I will not mention), but like more extreme stuff, or better stuff.
-
Thank you :)
that will be enough.

Nope, vip will gain access to special board created for the vip, but not always the mods have acces to it.

Well, so as i said ill give them some links from the references and they won't cought that.
exactly that happened. my project is accepted and i submitted a report.
here is report, and don't laugh on report format. i have to make it like that because its my college format.
and its in diffrent doc because, some page have header and footer where as some don't have it so for print out i have to make in in saperate .docx
