Title: Browser plugin to anonymize?
Post by: nafuti on October 08, 2015, 04:19:25 AM
I have been using anonymox for my firefox to swirch between proxies and have anonymity through the interwebz, but it keeps on crashing and after transmitting 500MBs of data, it reduces you speed. I feel i am fe up with this.

Anyone have a better solution for a good addon other than setting up a VPN and those dodgy proxies?

Is there any reason to why a VPN will not work for you? They are so much better, more stable and reliable. Mean some are quite cheap. I would say why don't you have a look at Tunnel Bear, they do offer a free service as you get 500MB free data each month. Give them a try https://www.tunnelbear.com/

I would also recommend looking at Private Internet Access, I have been with them for over 2 years now and had no problems what so ever, I have used their service on Windows, Linux and the service is great. I think for $39 a year is not bad considering you are getting better privacy if that is important to you.

I know you said "other than a vpn" but I do recommend you look into it as I think they will be worth your time.

Also here is some reviews done by TorrentFreak which are worth a read: https://torrentfreak.com/anonymous-vpn-service-provider-review-2015-150228/

As the above post mentions, I would NEVER use a browser plugin of any kind for these reasons:
1. Insecure
2. Slow
3. RAM hogging

and I would go for VPN and/or a RDP with VPN.
