Hi I'm beginning to learn how to hack websites and such. I am trying to hack my school website and when I click the login thing a pop out comes up asking for username/password. I can't click anywhere else on the screen and when I hit cancel there's a page that says "Authentication is required to view this page." and when I view the code there nothing except the text. If anyone has any ideas on how to crack this please write below. Thanks :D

@White-knight,
It's back to school time and everyone wants to be the l33t school hacker.
@OP,
It seems a rather simple and old login method and quite insecure too, but to stop the noobIsh questions plague, I must refrain from spoon feeding you :)

It's call HTTP AUTH. It's a password protected page. Get the URL of the page and run a brute force or dictionary attack. You could use a tool like JtR or Hydra. Google should help you further now that you know what to look for. YouTube has a lot of videos on dictionary and bruteforce attacks
