Title: Recommended Kali Laptops?
Post by: Avengers on August 20, 2015, 04:04:40 PM
So I've been running Kali as a VM on my main rig and on an old dinosaur in my basement as the main OS, but there are a LOT of things that require portability that I simply don't have right now. Does anyone have any recommendations for a laptop (new or used) that wouldn't break the bank ($500 USD or less) that I could dual boot Kali and Windows on?

Best bang for your buck might be going to a pawn shop, Some seem to have some nice stuff for cheap.
But even new you can get a nice one that will run kali for $500

I just scored a used Dell Latitude E6500 (comes with a year of warranty, though :) ) with 8GB of RAM, a C2D P9700 (2.8GHz) and a Nvidia NVS 160M for 150 bucks. The GPU is a bit of a letdown, but otherwise it's a great device for such a low price. Will exclusively run Kali on this. Should arrive next week, I'll report back whether Kali's working good with this device or not. :)
