Title: Anyone know how to switch a phone's carrier?

Would there be any way that one could perhaps take a straight talk iPhone and switch it to run on verizon without taking it to a verizon store or something simple like that? Is there some more complex way to do it illegally? xD seriously, though, I need to know.

Eh. Just Google "sim unlock {phone name}" you can jailbreak it but there are also hardware level hacks.

You have to unlock the Sim card as well as the GSM. This allows different providers to be used. Only one requires root. The other, a simple unlock code.
