Title: idiot question(about my sgs2)
Post by: jonneburger on March 02, 2014, 09:21:23 PM
So, one day on my phone, skype-app started "lagging". Doesnt asnwer etc. I had my screen locked. When skype started failing i forceshuttdowned my phone, which is samsung galaxy s2. When i tried to get it back on, only thing i got was infinite startscreen. Not that boot image, start screen which says: samsung galaxy s2. It didnt go any longer than that. I tried recoverymode, with no success. All it shows is start screen, but it shutdowns instantly. I tried loading phone. It loads but the battery image stays at  loading, and wont show percentage. Only thing works is "install mode" the mode which you use when using odin. Can i revive my phone? And how? I think that my memory is "corrupted", but can you experts say better?

Which sg s2 model do you have? and on what carrier? Are you rooted? What happens in detail when you're trying to go to recovery mode? And btw download mode will always work.

I don't know much about phone stuff but in one of those working modes, have you tried to SSH login. You could get in and try fix whatever happened if you get to know it.

Yes your memory is corrupted I think. Your memory chip could even be blown, I had that on my sgs3. Try flashing a recovery onto it with Odin/heimdall. If you cannot do this and it asks for a pit file you can try getting a stock pit file but it's most likely fucked then anyway.

If you can get into download mode you should be able to recover. That's why I'm trying to find out the info on the phone so I can post the stuff for Odin in an attempt to fix it. Although if the memory really is shot it may be ducked. Only way to find out really.

I have a SGS2 that does the same thing from time to time. Mine is rooted and has Clockworkmod Recovery so usually I just boot into recovery and do a factory reset and it'll boot up.
