Title: Evilzone tutorial base
Post by: Code.Illusionist on November 28, 2013, 12:46:48 AM
Hello Evilzone community. Lately I am pretty much bored so I decided to code up website where will be stored all Evilzone tutorials. I recently started this project so it's pretty unfinished , but you can check it out and tell me what you think of it.

Not bad but it would be nice if:
A. links were https as they should be :)
B. copyright was not invading the reading material
C. there were a way to archive/update posts like with exploitdb

Other than that I love the idea behind this. I'd be more than glad to help if help is needed. Would like to see more people behind this as well.

Edit: Did Ande actually say all those things in about.html or ..?

Hehe, yeah I really did write all that some time ago. I think it's shit now, but it was cool writing it. The thread is still floating around here somewhere.

Anyway, on topic: The idea is okay I guess. But the only thing you have done is listing some of the better tutorials, categorized them and changed the design. Not that I am discouraging or discrediting you in any way, you have done fine HTML work. However this wont really be very useful unless its made into a whole system. Search function, various tracks, tutorial series and so on and so on. Oh yeah, and also the design should be the same as here, at least color scheme-wise.

Actually I have been wanting to make a... Categorized, tagged, searchable tutorial page with tracks and series for all sorts of categories etc. But I just don't have the time to write so much these days. You know, a mix of codecademy, securitytube, digitaltutors and so on.

Yes he did. I remember reading that awhile ago. Really great read.

EDIT: Woops, too late.

@Architect: If you want to join project , you are welcome. Or anyone else, of course =)
@ande: I will change color scheme to be alike here. I will also try to improve all this in the way you suggested it.

EDIT: Just edited some styling , but it's not over yet. Atm I must rush at college, but when I am back I will continue work on this.

That style scheme is much better. A bit strong contrasts with the red rows tho.

This is great initiative. The about page is OK, also looky here: http://evilzone.org/general-discussion/patterns-of-evilzone-fun!-challenge!/msg65139/#msg65139 (http://evilzone.org/general-discussion/patterns-of-evilzone-fun!-challenge!/msg65139/#msg65139)

I like the original design much more, doesn't strain the eyes as much when reading large texts. If you need somewhere to put this, I can upload to my website.
It looks pretty and cool :) have a cookie for your troubles and keep it up!

Just to add that I didn't stop with this project, just don't have time at this very moment to continue. Lot of college stuff to do, recently had birthday and so on. As soon as I get some time, this will be continued. =)

I actually really like the style the idea is also great if you want any help with the project i really think this can be good.

EDIT:
Things I would add would be a search bar and perhaps use php to make adding tutorials easier.
