Title: Hacks in the news
Post by: FuyuKitsune on June 01, 2011, 01:14:56 AM
I keep seeing hacks in the news so I thought it'd be nice to have a topic for all of them. None of them are really worth their own topic so they can all get tossed in here. Anyone can toss in stories and discuss.

First up: Lockheed (http://www.informationweek.com/news/government/security/229700151) Martin (http://www.scmagazineus.com/lockheed-admits-to-hack-that-may-portend-more-breaches/article/204205/). The largest freaking defense contractor in the US got hacked because of the previous SecurID hack. With some keys and algorithms they got remote access.
If you weren't listening, RSA got hacked (http://arstechnica.com/security/news/2011/04/spearphishing-0-day-rsa-hack-not-extremely-sophisticated.ars) with a Flash 0-day embedded in Excel spreadsheets. Spreadsheets were mass-mailed to workers at the company and then kicked some ass with Poison Ivy. It wasn't extremely sophisticated but it fucked them up.

Second up: PBS (http://www.informationweek.com/news/security/attacks/229700188). LulzSec got butthurt because of a story about Wikileaks. They say they used a 0-day in Movetable Type 4 (PBS's CMS). Then they rooted and dumped tables.
LulzSec toyed around on Sony's Japanese site and hacked Sony's Greek site, and hacked a login page to some crap from Fox earlier this March.

They SQLi'd SonyPictures.com and dumped PLAINTEXT PASSWORDS from the server.
