Title: Help: Ecot home computer
Post by: Pure on April 27, 2013, 01:47:10 AM
Hello all. I'm new here and plan on using an old Ecot home computer to learn everything. I'm a complete beginner.

SO, my problem is that Ecot computers are completely blocked from the internet and practically everything other than the Ecot learning program. Not to mention, I can't even get into Windows because I forgot my old school username. I did some research and the only ideas I found included downloading boot cds and installing Windows or  using a spare hardrive.

My question is, is there any way I can get into this system without a seperate hardrive or the username?

It would help if I already new what I was doing and then tried to hack this program, but that's not the circumstances.  :-X

Open to any advice and ideas!  :)

I would partition the drive and install Windows on the new partition.
Okay, maybe I wouldn't install Windows but you take my point.

I'd invest in a new computer if I were you, people don't generally design h4x0r t00lzzzzz for computers with 128mb of RAM.

Also, low RAM can be a pain in the arse if/when you start programming.

Well I'm a hmm 'poor college student'  :P so I was going to work with what I had, I will likely invest in something new during summer break! Thank you for your advice!
